Being A Kid At Disney! | Anaheim | Los Angeles | California

I don't care how old I get Disneyland will always be the happiest place on Earth for me. Going to Disneyland will bring me as much joy as a 5-year old would get knowing they are about to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

THE MOUSE, THE MAN AND ME, MYSELF AND I

I was only 10 years old when I visited Disneyland in Paris, France and so have rather vague memories of it. I do remember running up to Chip and Dale and only spending half a day at Disney.

GOOFY!

There are two parks in Anaheim, Los Angeles, California. Yes I had to say all that. We actually got to experience the fireworks on all four days that we were there. We drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles, which is roughly an 8 hours drive. However, it took us an entire day to get there. We left San Francisco at about 9am and we got to Anaheim at about 10pm. The reason for this was because we stopped over at Monterey Bay and Big Sur enroute to Anaheim. I highly recommend Nepenthe for a place to break and get some food. It is in Big Sur, with amazing views of the Pacific. Don't believe me? Just watch the video below!

The hotels in Anaheim are located very close vicinity to both, Disneyland and California Adventure Park. By close vicinity I mean a 10-minute walk at max, if you're a slow walker. We were staying at The Sheraton, I believe. As soon as we entered Anaheim, the fireworks started. It felt like we were being greeted into the city. They were spectacular.

Let's skip to days 3 and 4, which we spent at the Disney Parks. What went on, on day 2, is just an excuse to write another blog. on this beautiful city of LA. We had pre-purchased tickets to Disney. To be more specific we had pre-purchased the one park per day tickets. This allowed us to enjoy both, Disneyland and California Adventure Park thoroughly. So on day 3, we went to Disneyland. The park where it all started. This is the original Disneyland Park. As we had pre-purchased our tickets, we skipped  the lines at the ticket counter and went straight to the entrance as soon as the gates were opened. We were inside Disneyland within 10 minutes after it opened for the day. It was time to make all our dreams come true. To our surprise, we already met the first character, why Snow White of course!

It was a rather sunny day in California. There's a shocker! Even though we had sunscreen and our sunnies on, something was missing. Our princess caps!

Step into a whole new world. We walk past the Castle. What should the first ride be? If you know me, then you know that I despise thrill rides. Ain't nobody got time for that! It was decided the first ride was on the railroad train to get a glimpse of the entire park. My brother had previously done the Disney International Exchange Program and he got a chance to reminisce over the good days.

The next ride, Pirates of the Carribean. This has a very low level of thrill i.e. no intense drops and all that except for one little drop. As we get off, and we walk a little, we come across Indiana Jones and the Mountain of Doom. Of course, I'm not getting on that! Commence, war between brother and sister.

Keep walking, and we decide to watch our first show. Just an FYI, California Adventure Park has a lot more shows than Disneyland, for example Aladdin. We went into the Enchanted Tiki Room.

IN THE TIKI TIKI TIKI TIKI ROOM

Whilst roaming around at Disneyland, it's quite easy to forget to eat food. I mean there's so much going on, who wants food?! But please folks, make sure you're hydrated and not on an empty stomach. Also please don't have a hearty meal and then go on a roller coaster. That is not the best decision, no.

We went on a ride that involved driving cars. My mother and brother went on one, and my dad and I on another. Being the expert driver, I drove our car, and my mother who hates driving and doesn't have a licence drove their car. Well technically, they both did. My mother steered the car, whilst my brother hit the pedal. Talk about teamwork!

It was time for the parade! You CANNOT miss Mickey's Soundsational parade! In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, watch my video on Disneyland at the top of this blog. Make sure you get there early to get front row seats. I was so overwhelmed by this parade, I almost had tears in my eyes. Ahem. But before the parade starts time for some selfies, before they were mainstream. Yes, the kid photobombed us.

After the parade, we had dinner. Sweet, sweet dinner. Following that, we watched Fantasmic. Straight after this show is the fireworks. You cannot leave Disneyland without seeing the fireworks.

SIMBA JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KING

The next day, we went to California Adventure Park. This park is filled with shows and thrill seeking rides. We only stayed at this park till about 5pm, which is something I regret. I don't know when I'll be headed to Disneyland next, let alone LA. We enter the park and luck strikes again. Right in front of us are Chip and Dale. We meet again.

CHIP AND DALE

The previous day, I had missed out on something important, which made me feel bad. So, I decided to fulfill this desire on this day. I found an artist and got a face painting. It is normal for a 20 something year old to get their face painted whilst at Disneyland.

DAT FACE PAINT THO

Continuing on, we head to our first show, 'It's tough to be a bug'. We'd just missed the first show, and had to wait a bit till the next show, so we decided to stay in the vicinity, so we could come back for the second show. Oh my what is this, Frozone! Of course I want a photo!

FROZONE

Just so you know, I faced my fears and went on a couple of thrill seeking rides. Grizzly River Fun, which actually is a pretty fun ride and I came out soaking wet from it. The second ride, it's not quite a thrill seeking ride, but I absolutely recommend it, provided you don't have vertigo or aren't scared of heights. It is called 'Soarin' over California'. It is a simulation ride wherein you are seated on a 'plane' so to speak whilst you fly over California. My whole family went on this ride and we all loved it!

CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE PARK

In conclusion, Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth and it is a magical world. It should be a place to visit on your travel bucket list. Writing this blog has me reminiscing over my experiences there. If I could I'd pack my bags and go now, but unfortunately I can't do that. Have you been to any of the Disneyland Parks around the world? What was your experience like? Before I go since I've talked so much about LA in this blog, here's a video of this city.
