The Departure Lounge

I decided to use a rather vague and artistic, if I may say so, title for this blog. Last year, 2022, is when travel well and truly opened up for New Zealand. Restrictions lifted, borders re-opened, travel almost in the same way as you once did pre-COVID. Whilst, I had not planned on it, 2022, was a year of travel for me. To give you a snapshot:

My bank balance is at an all-time low, but my heart is on a full tank. Not being able to go anywhere beyond the borders of New Zealand since my last trip in 2019, had a massive impact on me. One that I didn’t realise, until the start of 2022. I just didn’t feel like myself anymore. It was hard.

This also had a domino effect. I write blogs to share my experiences of travel. To be able to provide some insights and tips if you’re planning on leaving a footprint where my shadows are. But because I wasn’t really travelling, I struggled to write. I just wasn’t inspired enough.

I’m hoping with the travel that I have done in the last year, I can somewhat rejuvenate my blogs and share more.

I won’t say to watch this space or keep an eye out. I’m still struggling to come out of the writer’s block, but I hope to share more content as we go. So here’s to more boarding passes, departure gates, flights, hotels, and experiences.

Until next time,

MiliG
